Domain Expiry monitors

Tracks when a domain registration expires (via RDAP) and warns you ahead of time. Losing a domain takes down everything on it, so this is worth setting for every domain you own.

Fields

Field Required Description
Domain Yes The registrable domain, e.g. example.com (not a subdomain).
Warn under (days) No Mark the monitor DEGRADED when fewer than this many days remain. Defaults to 30.

Statuses

  • UP — the registration is valid with more than Warn under days remaining.
  • DEGRADED — the domain expires soon (within the warning window).
  • DOWN — the domain appears expired, or registration data couldn't be retrieved.

Certificate vs domain

These are different expiries — track both:

Monitor Watches
TLS Certificate The HTTPS certificate on a host.
Domain Expiry The domain registration with the registrar.

Note

Domain data comes from RDAP and depends on the registry publishing it. Some TLDs expose less detail than others.
